I have recently had the pleasure of getting to know internationally acclaimed harpist, Erica Powell Walker on a personal and professional level. It seems fitting that someone as beautiful as Erica would be an accomplished harpist, which is truly one of the most beautiful sounding instruments ever made. She has one of the most impressive resumes as a harpist, and recently returned from England to the United States.
As well as teaching, performing with the Orange County Symphony & Wind Symphony, and playing for weddings and special events, Erica also currently delights guests during afternoon tea at The Resort at Pelican Hill, a luxury resort in Newport Coast on weekends.
If you are looking for a harpist for your next event, I know will love Erica as much as I do!

Erica received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2001 from the Eastman School of Music in Harp Performance where she studied with Kathleen Bride. Her winning competitions include: The Redlands Bowl Young Artists Competition (1996) & The University of Southern California, ASTA (American String Teacher's Association) harp division (1993).
She has performed extensively throughout Northern England as a freelance harpist with the Northern Sinfonia, the Leeds Sinfonia, the Durham Sinfonia, as well as many others, in historical venues such as 11th century cathedrals, stately homes, and castles within region. She also spent a year on the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ships through contracts with the Cunard Cruise Lines.
Erica has been teaching for over nine years through her private studio as well being the former resident harp tutor at the renowned Sage Gateshead Centre for the Performing Arts. This center is known as the British national centre of excellence in music education.
Currently, Erica is working as a freelance harpist in Orange County California; performing, teaching and harpist for the Orange County Symphony & Wind Symphony.
