On Sunday, June 27, 2010 my husband and I had the privilege of attending another fantastic
Taste of the Nation event at the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island in San Diego.
Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation is the nation's premier culinary benefit dedicated
to making sure no kid in America grows up hungry. Each spring and summer, the nation's hottest chef's and mixologists donate their time, talent and passion at nearly 40 events across the United States and Canada, with one goal in mind; to raise the critical funds needed to
end childhood hunger.
Share Our Strength brought a new level to the San Diego benefit with this year's theme
"The Golden Age of Hollywood". While enjoying panoramic views from the ballroom at the Hotel Del Coronado, the rockabilly/swing group, The Stilettos, provided live entertainment, while guests dined on the finest and most exquisite food & beverage. A silent auction, a VIP cooking demonstration in a private room by Searsucker's own Chef Brian Marlakey, and a special wine presentation by the Hotel Del Coronado's Wine Director and Sommelier rounded out a spectacular afternoon.
Please be sure to check out Taste of the Nation in your area, where 100% of ticket sales supports Share Our Strength's efforts to end childhood hunger with contributions going to
the nation's most effective and strategic anti-hunger organizations.
