Tequila Soaked Sorbet

I'm loving this concept of Tequila Soaked Sorbet I found on

As the last stop {the dessert stop} on a Mexican themed progressive dinner,
this was the perfect way to wrap the evening with good friends!

{Real Party} Retro Surfer Party

This fabulous Retro Surf party was planned by Kate of I Love Parties and was featured
on Hostess with the Mostess! As a Southern California born and raised girl, the surfing/beach theme is so relevant and full of so many ultra creative ideas! This party was planned
for a birthday, but this theme and these great ideas would be perfect for any summer party,
or an engagement party!

The theme included surfboard-shaped sandwiches, "shark" and "sand" cupcakes, retro tin Kombi vans, homemade wooden surf signs, sugar cookies designed to look like colorful surfboards and waves, and "coconut bowling"! I love this!

The favor and cake table was set up so everyone could fill their own gift bag with surf and beach-themed accessories which included; cool black sunglasses, custom coloring books with crayons, surf tatoos, "surf screen" with a custom label, and personalize surf wax.

The goodies included hibiscus lollipops, pineapple jellies, bananas, and Bounty coconut chocolate bars ~ yum! Tall glass cylinders where filled with blue jelly beans, gummy milk bottles, and large faux banana leaves.

A homemade banana cake was decorated with edible surfboard decorations.

Pictures of the birthday boy were photoshopped onto old surf magazines, framed, and displayed in front of his surf trophies.

Drinks, at the Sunset Bar, were given fun, themed names and included jugs of lime
cordial, pineapple juice, orange juice and blue powerade. Then they were topped off
with hula girl straws!

The decor included custom surf shack signs made from fence palling and paint.

There are so, so many more details that Kate describes in detail on Hostess with the Mostess. Please head over to HWTM, or directly to Kate's blog, I Love Parties, to see the entire post and get all the details!

Gorgeous Pink Styled Wedding Inspiration

This is one of the most lovely styled shoots I have seen in a long time...it incorporates so many elements that I love ~ pink, peonies, girly, feminine, soft, romantic and on and on. It was featured on Style Me Pretty, and well frankly, is just stunning!

It starts off with pink champagne slushies {yum}, coral peonies the size of dinner plates, and soft ethereal dresses...swoon.

As always be sure to check out the original post on Style Me Pretty for credit and links to all of the vendors who collaborated in this styled shoot!

Ultimate Desert Summer Fiesta

This is the ultimate dessert summer fiesta originally spotted on Design Sponge and compliments the free DIY printables I posted yesterday.

A lot of tissue paper was used for the decor in this styled shoot, including banners, drink stirrers and tissue paper fringe was sewn on at the top and the bottom of the invitations. Not only did carry the theme throughout the event, but it's an inexpensive way to decorate!

To make the overhead decor out of tissue paper, simply fold the tissue paper in half a couple of times and then use scissors to fringe the bottom. Then, using fishing line and thick wooden dowels or poles that have been placed in the ground, hang the tissue paper gently onto the fishing line. Tip: if the ground is hard, you can also get buckets or posts and then fill with dirt/sand and rocks. Hanging the banners from tree to tree also works well.

The signature drink was Mint Mojitos and a simple dessert of Mexican Wedding Cookies
serve as the perfect compliments to this dessert oasis party!

The place card holders doubled as cactus planter favors for the guests to take home. To recreate the place card, simply print out the names of your guests, cut them down to the size you like, sew or stitch on some fringe, then attach to a thick stick with a nail.
