{REAL WEDDING} Napa Valley Shabby Chic Wedding

In trying to keep up with my vintage wedding posts, I have been admiring this touching backyard wedding I found on The Wedding Chicks.

The wedding took place in the bride's parents home, and the bride & groom exchanged
vows underneath a big cotton wood tree at sunset. If that isn't sentimental enough, they
pulled together rickety furniture, desks, drawers, frames and doors, along with lots of heirlooms that were found around the barn, the bride's parents home, and her grandmother's home to celebrate the day.

If that isn't sweet and sentimental, I can't image what is. However, the day was bittersweet; along with their tears of joy, there were tears of sadness brought on by an unfortunate event that occurred 2 days before the wedding...you can read all about that on The Wedding Chicks.

{REAL WEDDING} Shabby Chic DIY Iowa Wedding

I am just so impressed with brides that want to not only include amazing design elements,
but they want to do them all themselves! Planning a wedding takes an enormous amount
of personal time but being able to handcraft all the personal touches is something
quite extraordinary.

This bride, who's wedding was featured on The Wedding Chicks, wanted a shabby chic theme, and executed perfectly! The beautiful photography is my Amanda Basteen Photography.

{REAL WEDDING} Vintage Button Wedding

As you know by now, I am drawn to all things vintage. I found this adorable real vintage button wedding on one of my favorite reads, Half-Baked. This event is a collaboration between cake designer, Heather, of Social Bites of Ruston; Valarie of Southern Fete Event Planning and Courtney Dellafiora Photography who took the amazing photos.

I am just in love with the rustic, vintage details and the stunning photography.
Great job ladies!

{REAL WEDDING} The Cutest DIY California Wedding Ever

I have been waiting for this wedding to show up on The Wedding Chicks! You'll remember that I posted Rochelle & Bobby's vintage engagement shoot that was inspired by their Love of Kids.

Well I could hardly wait for the wedding to be published and I was not disappointed. Their wedding appeared on The Wedding Chicks, and the theme of their love of children was carried throughout their DIY wedding decor that was styled and photographed by Wildflowers Photography. Wow.

I am going to quote directly from The Wedding Chicks blog because their description about this wedding is just so sweet, "Rochelle and Bobby wanted their wedding to be fun, creative, personal, handmade, inexpensive and a theme based upon all things childlike. They also firmly believed that it should e a day celebrating their love for God and their childlike joy in waiting on His timing in bringing the two of them together."

What a beautiful love story! I have enjoyed "meeting" Rochelle & Bobby through their personalities reflected in the way they celebrate their most special days and the way they honor God through it all. I wish them a long, wonderful and joy filled life together!

This truly is one of the cutest DIY California weddings ever!

From Wildflowers Photography on the creative touches of the day:
Pinwheels made out of children's book pages, paper chains, painted cardboard clouds, quilts hanging as backdrops, hundreds of old time candies, paper flowers, chalkboard artwork, cupcakes topped with fruit loops, gummy worms and sprinkles, a dinner catered by an In & Out truck, a cotton candy machine, multicolored paper crowns, handmade boutonnieres with colored kites, paper "leaves" cut from an old Cinderella storybook, lollipops, 20 pairs of converse sneakers and one fantastic handmade swing.
