Back to School Free Printables

This is definitely going to be the "Back to School" banner that I use for my daughter's first day at preschool. While she technically isn't going "back to school" since she is starting her first year in preschool, I am such a sentimental sap that I thought it would be cute to use the same banner year after year for the first day of each new year...and add some sort of specialty decor to correspond with the grade she is starting in school.

Along with the "Back to School" banner download there are also darling and theme

related regular and oversized party toppers {I especially will be using the little blonde

girl cupcake toppers}.

DIY Candy Necklace Craft Favor w/ FREE Printable Labels

I found this adorable DIY Candy Necklace Craft Favor with a downloadable printable

label on Paper and Cake's blog. They were so creative in coming up with a fresh alternative to the idea of candy buffets at parties.

They shared their tutorial on how to create your own modern favor boxes, filled with candy and string, for party guests to make their own couture candy necklaces. This would be perfect as a craft at a child party or baby shower done in a sweets~theme!

Supplies:

*favor boxes (4" clear cube boxes were used in this case)

*a skewer

*embroidery floss (to match your candy colors)

*cereal with holes (like fruit loops; a large box will fill 10 favor boxes)

*candies (take a favor box with you to the candy store so you can get a sense of

how much you need to fill each box)

1. Play with your color palette ! you could do each box in a single color group or include the whole rainbow!

2. Trim Licorice Belts into small squares. Using a skewer, poke a hole through licorice belts and other chew candies.

3. Layer the cereal, then candies in each box.

4. Place a length of embroidery floss ~ tied at one end with a Fruit Loop and knotted at the other - on top of candies inside the box.

5. You can make your own labels with pretty scrapbook papers and card stock or you can download Paper and Cake's Couture Candy Labels for free! Affix labels to box front.

6. Tie some rock candy to the box with some cording or ribbon.

7. Then let your guests have a blast making their own candy necklaces!

"Tea Bag" Shortbread Cookies with FREE DIY Printable!

I found one of the cutest things I think I have ever seen over on one of my favorite reads, Celebration at Home.

These "tea bag shortbread cookies" were an original idea by Kim at Frost Me (another fabulous blog!), and now Accent the Party has made it easy with these free DIY printables!

Directions: simply cut out the shapes from your favorite shortbread recipe, poke a

hole through the dough with a wooden skewer, and bake. Dip in melted chocolate and tie

on the tag with bakers twine.

Such a a great idea for a tea party or a take home favor!

FREE DIY Printable Reserved Signs by Blush Printables

A big thank you to Blush Printables for these FREE Reserved Sign printable downloads!

To use: print and cut this 5x7 template on card stock. The background is left blank so

you can print on patterned or colored paper. Using another sheet of cardstock that is

slightly larger than your sign, glue a ribbon in the center of the paper. Glue your reserved

sign on top of the paper + ribbon, and let dry.

Free DIY Printable Favor Bags For Your Wedding

This adorable project for DIY gift bags was designed by Kathleen at Twig & Thistle,

exclusively for Style Me Pretty readers, and I qualify as an avid reader!

You can see all of Twig & Thisle's favor goodies on her Etsy shop, as well as some

pretty great ideas on the blog.

Materials:

Ink jet color printer

5 x 7 white paper bags

treats

Instructions:

1. Download the Bag Graphic and type in names and wedding date in spaces provided. Follow the directions in the PDF for printing with an ink jet printer. If you don't have an ink jet or if your printer doesn't allow you to print odd formats, you can print directly onto sticker paper (found at office supply stores) and post apply to the bag.

2. Help maintain freshness and keep sweets from leaving oil stains on the paper bag by lining with a glassine envelope.

3. Add a little more detail to the bags and scallop the top with a pair of pinking shears or rotary cutter.

4. Fill bag with treats and serve!

I know summer just started and you probably aren't thinking about thank you notes or

gifts for your kid's teachers, but you can always find someone who has taught your child something valuable that you want to say thank you too. My daughter loves to

create personal notes for her teachers ~ and a handwritten note is always so appreciated.

This summer my daughter and I are making thank you notes for her Sunday school teachers (since she is moving up to the next year) and her teachers at vacation bible school, small group leaders, ballet teachers, etc.

Just because it's not the "end of the year" doesn't mean there isn't someone you could thank who has invested in your child and made a difference in their life!

Personalized Blend and FREE Printable Coffee Label

Spice up a gift of coffee by creating a distinctive flavor. Mix one or two teaspoons of cinnamon or nutmeg into a pound of freshly ground coffee beans; or scrape the seeds from four vanilla beans with a pairing knife, and add them to a pound of coffee.

For the best flavor, use a medium~bodied coffee, such as one from Kenya or Columbia. Scoop into a coffee bag with a coated lining, available at kitchen~supply stores. Finish with a ribbon and a decorative sticker.

DIY Download: Paper Bag Favor Labels

These super easy and super affordable favor tags were a great find on Flights of Fancy!

Click HERE to begin your free download ~ step by step instructions are below.

Step 1: You’ll need your tools. Shown in image 1 above: (A) Brown paper lunch bags – available at most grocery stores for under $5.00 for a package of 100. (B) Ruler (C.) x-acto knife – a must-have for any crafter! (D.) a bone folder – another must-have (E.) Double-sided tape or (F.) Duck Easy-Stick® Double Stick Adhesive (I personally prefer the Easy-Stick over regular two-sided tape because it’s really fast and easy to use).

Step 2: Print our free template on your color printer (download link below).

Step 3: Use the bone folder and ruler to score along the dotted “fold” line on the template.

Step 4: Trim out the labels using your ruler and x-acto knife. Be sure to use a cutting mat – it cushions the x-acto blade and saves your surfaces from nicks and scratches. Fold the label along the score mark you created with the bone folder. Pre-folding the label makes it much easier to apply later.

Step 5: Using the bone folder and ruler, score the paper bag for easy folding. We made the score 1.5 inches from the top of our bag.

Step 6: Fold the paper bag at the score mark then fold a second time. Run the bone folder along the edges to make a nice, crisp fold. Pre-folding the bags will make it much easier to have a uniform look when all the favors are displayed…it will also make assembly easier and faster.

Step 7: Fill the bags with your goodies then fold the tops down. (note: If filling with cookies or any other edible favor, be sure to put them in a box or glassine bag first so you won’t get grease spots on your paper bags). Using the Easy-Stick, apply adhesive the the back of the label. Add label to bag – the long side of the label should be on the same side as the bag’s fold. The short side of the label wraps around to the back of the bag.

Step 8: Display and enjoy!

I have watched the Disney movie so many times this summer with my daughter; and I'm thinking she is going to be Alice in Wonderland for Halloween; and we love having tea
