custom pastel colors to match the color palette of the party that Morgann designed ~
such amazing talent all the way around! Morgann not only designs beautiful children's

Inspired by Cherries

My friend Tori at Thoughtfully Simple truly designs some of the most amazing theme parties, she is so creative and always so inspiring ~ and this cherry themed party does not disappoint!

To create the red & aqua tablescape, she paired vintage inspired cherry invitations,
cherry tea towels to use as decor and/or a hostess gift, cherry mojitos, red dot luncheon napkins and pale blue 10" plates.

With cherries as the main inspiration for the menu, look for salad recipes that
incorporated cherries (like this cherry-arugula salad). For the dessert try chocolate
cherry mouse shots, mini cherry pies, cherry vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cherry cakes.
You can also pick some coordinate fabric (like this aqua dot) and make simple runners for
your dessert table, drink areas and even the main table.

For refreshments, try cherry lemonade to keep guests cool. For favors, send guests home
with a bag of fresh cherries that they can enjoy later; and tie the bags closed with these adorable cherry tags. And the cherry on top?? The darling cherry thank you cards!

Be sure to check out Thoughtfully Simple's blog to get all the recipes to the cherry inspired
food listed above, and links to where to get a hold of the darling cherry decor!

Past to Present ~ Timeless Vintage Details

This romantic, timeless wedding inspiration was submitted by Kio Kreations and Kara Schultz and was featured on The Sweetest Occasion as part of their Inspired Creations Contest. I have really been loving seeing all submissions, but this one combines so many of my favorite design elements: vintage charm; classic beauty; gorgeous soft pink, ivory and champagne color palette; fluffy, romantic florals; vintage milk glass; and creative DIY touches.

Read on to hear about some of the brilliant DIY touches they incorporated, and a link at the end of the post for the DIY tutorials for these projects!

The designers thrifted cake stands, vases, picture frames and other wares to create a
stunning escort card display and tablescape design.

Gorgeous linens and textiles were mixed and matched to create a feeling of rich texture that really adds to the over all design. The escort cards were cut with decorative scissors to mimic lace, and flowers were made of vintage doilies to adorn the bouquet.

{Real Party} Gossip Girl Inspired Bridal Shower

This {Real Party} by Caroline Chen of The Special Day was featured on Hostess with the Mostess and is a gorgeous"Gossip Girl Inspired" Bridal Shower; but the concept would work well for many different celebrations.

I love all the girly details; from the fluffy pink peony arrangements, aubergine ruffle
placemats, and headband favors, to the guests who wore "Upper East Side Chic" black
and white to match the party's color palette and style.

Long tables were draped in ivory white and set with the aubergine ruffle
placemats & rhinestone-bedecked charger base plates.

The tablescape included these gorgeous floral arrangements in containers dressed
in a velvety purple wrap and ribbon made to look like a flower.

Additionally the table was accessorized with various heights of pillar candles &
glass votives adorned with ribbon, and crystal like chandeliers.

The bride's chair was dressed in a bustled ivory cover resembling a wedding dress.

Please see Hostess blog to see additional photos and a link to all the fabulous vendors credited for the party!

A French Inspired Bridal Shower

This styled shoot found on Style Me Pretty is simple breathtaking. Not only is the
design, decor and photography out of this world, but I just love the creative theme that
is woven throughout this party. For a total girly-girl, like me, I think I might just be in
love with this whole concept!

It's a French flair and intended to showcase a classical nod to a modern bridal shower. The bride to be has made lifelong friends during childhood, so she decided to host a small party celebrating their friendship and and upcoming wedding. The shower was intended to spoil her friends, so after they signed the guest book, they were invited to adorn themselves with jewelry and hairpieces at an Adorn Yourself station, complete with feathers, jewels, and all things sparkly. The girls then dined on decadent sweets, complete with chocolate chip ice cream, tarts, and macaroons, amongst many other sugary sweets.

The bride to be then invited her friends to feast on cake and pink champagne as they
toast life, love and laughter.

And just before opening gifts, they were invited to the Mixology station, where the girls mixed their own perfume as keepsakes. The ladies then ventured into the garden for gift opening and festivities to celebrate the upcoming marriage.

Amazing. Brilliant. Speechless. Just wow.
