{Real Party} Elegant Tea Party

I am loving this amazingly elegant tea party featured on Half Baked blog. Designed by
Tracey Lau, who you might remember from the darling kite party she planned for her son, this tea party is not only rich in color, but flavor as well. The color combination of french blue, chocolate, caramel and vanilla sound good enough to eat...

...and the chocolate mousse shots adorned with mini spoons and ribbon ~ yum!

{Real Party} Anthropology-Style Owl Baby Shower

I found this adorable anthropology-style inspired baby shower on Hostess with the Mostess and it's just simple adorable, and wanted to include it in my owl themed party posts!
It was planned in honor of Carlie, from Gabriel Ryan and included so many talented
designers and stylists!

From frozen lemonade served in mason jars to owl-shaped paper hand fans to stunning
floral arrangements displayed in pretty bottles and vintage vases, this party is overflowing
with charm and thoughtful, creative details.

The colorful, translucent vases look so pretty all grouped together, and primarily all-white blooms add a soft, delicate vibe without competing with the colors in the vases. Yellow pom flowers add a nice pop of color in just a few key places.

Here is a close up of the invitations, which were both handmade and hand-delivered,
and included special details like custom fabrics and twine. What a way to set the tone for
this stunning party!

Some of the other fabulously creative party decor included a cool vintage-style name banner and picture garland, as well as adorable handmade owl fans!

Not to mention the stylish, eclectic arrangement on this hand-crafted desk looks like something straight out of an anthropologie catalog shoot.

The desk included a block letter "L" sign, wooden owl figurines, old-fashioned hard-covered books, a customized photo guest book, knitted baby booties, flowers in vintage vases, and a copy of the handmade baby shower invitation.

Tissue and paper pom garlands make for the perfect backdrop to this
lovely dessert buffet!

Treats included: mini candy bar cupcakes, red velvet and carrot cake flavored cake pops,
mini fruit "pizzas", iced sugar cookies decorated with purple and yellow owl motifs.

{Real Party} Shabby Chic Bridal Shower

Get ready for the gorgeous shabby chic inspiration I found on The Wedding Chicks!
This look is fresh, fun, and feminine - all the things I love!

Amy with Carter and Cook was the masterminds behind this stylish shoot;
and the oh so talented Jessica Claire was the lady behind the lens.

The color palette was shades of yellow, sea blue, greens and bits of tangerine woven throughout; all clean colors that reflect the vibe of the venue ~ Cafe Mimosa.

Wait until you see all the great DIY projects that happened to create some of the fun details for the tablescape. Read on to see how this all came together and how you can make this happen!

To begin with the table linens were hand made. They found delicate and girly floral
printed fabric at Joann's, as well as fine stripped tangerine and cream linen, which was
turned into the table runner.

The floral overlay fit just perfectly, and to add a fun touch, they sewed a cream fringe around the entire border of the linen. The table runner was hand sewn, and on the end of the runner were glues dozens and dozens of buttons to tie into the theme.

The soft green dishes were found at TJ Maxx, the stemware and mugs were bought at the trendy and chic Anthropology.

Along with the adorable cake, they served a mini cake on each place setting, complete with fondant lemons, kumquats and buttons. Seriously ~ so cute!

One of the creative elements I love most about this brunch is the favors; which were individual recipe boxes full of recipes. They purchased plain wooden boxes at Michael's and wrapped the yellow string around it several times, attached a few of the buttons on all sides of the box, and fashioned a darling facsinator to finish the touch, which each girl can wear in their hair, or fastened to a sweater. The favor boxes also doubled as place cards at each guests' seat; and on the back of each chair was a set of measuring spoons for an added touch.

A very sentimental and romantic touch.

For the button garland, they ordered la variety of buttons from Etsy, and found several at Michael's. A larger spool of thread used for quilting was used to thread one button at a time. The tricky part to this was making sure the garland doesn't get tangles up in a mess!

Several strands of garland were made with various colors and shapes of buttons.
Tip: make sure you have a beam, or some sort of overhand to tie your garland to. This one was swooped in varying heights and layers over the table.

The adorable menus, place cards, and invitations were also hand sticked and adorned
with buttons!

The centerpieces where the perfect blend of orange ranunculus, tulips, hydrangea, mini daffodils, craspedia, and kumquats. the florals were done in three simple white rectangular vases to keep the look clean and fresh. Truly a beautiful shabby chic tablescape.

{Real Party} Curious George Birthday Party

Another adorable character~inspired party ~ this time it's Curious George!

I found this colorful party centered around the lovable Curious George, who was even around when I was little {and that was many, many years ago!}. I love that he is still loved and is the inspiration for incredible birthdays like this one planned by Esther from My Bride Story and featured on Hostess with the Mostess.

This party is so filled with inspiring ideas that are wonderfully creative as well as stylish and incredibly budget friendly. Esther's generous heart and desire to educate her son on how to care for others when he gets older shines throughout in this party.

Just amazing when you read the details. Thank you Esther for the reminder to always remember how fortunate we are to have our basic needs met and loved ones around us ~
you are an inspiration!

I LOVE that all gifts and proceeds were going directly to support the foundation, Giving Children Hope {due to recent events in Haiti}. A total of $900 was raised for the foundation.

The blue lanterns that hung from the tree were borrowed as was the red wagon that
stored ice-cold drinks in it ~ a darling idea!

The wheat grass boxes and floral arrangements were donated and Esther made the paper pinwheels to line the walkway in the grass to welcome the guests.

The dessert table was full of red, yellow and blue sweet treats, the garlands were handmade
out of felt and yarn in the same colors scheme. The garlands now hang over Grant's crib. I love the idea of incorporating party decorations into nursery decor after the party is over!

I love the rows of milk shooters with chocolate cookies on top!

Esther made the birthday hats out of decorative paper, attached some pompoms on top and made a small hole to tie the elastic bands together and secure them with staples.
